All are beautifully detailed with famous Guinness images from the Guinness Harp, Guinness Extra Stout Label to the ever Trusty Flying Guinness Toucan and now, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the famous guinness brewery at St. James' Gate Dublin, we have the special, and very collectable, Anniversary Tankard. They are available in a variety of interesting shapes from the traditional tankard style to a pewter version of the famous Guinness pint glass and the original Guinness glass. They make a wondeful Guinness inspired trophy ideal for the Guinness lovers trophy cabinet!

These Guinness tankards are skilfully made by true craftsmen using a rolling and spinning technique to produce these wonderful objects that would grace any Guinness collection. They all carry the mark of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers, which was originally granted a Royal Charter by King Edward 1V in 1473, and the Association of British Pewter Craftsmen to ensure their quality and originality.

A bit of background information for you on Guinness signs/plaques - John Thomas Young Gilroy (1898-1985) was an English artist and illustrator, best known for his advertising posters for Guinness, the Irish stout.

Born in Whitley Bay, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Gilroy attended Durham University until his studies were interrupted by World War I, during which he served with the Royal Field Artillery. He resumed studying at the Royal College of Art in London, where he remained as a teacher for a time until gaining employment at S H Benson's advertising agency, where he created the iconic advertisement art for Guinness featuring the Zoo Keeper, Toucan and other animals enjoying Guinness!
