Before a central bottling plant was establshed at the brewery in the 1970s, publicans bottled their own beer in their premises from barrels and hogheads delivered by the company. Aficianados believed this bottle-conditioned beer to be far superior to all others. The product was replicated in factory production but pasteurised to prolong shelf life. This metal wall plaque depicts a bottle of Burke’s, the largest bottler of Guinness stout, in the USA.
