Eddie Doherty is one of the last true Irish hand weavers and from his loom in Ardrara Donegal, Ireland he skilfully produces some wonderful tweed garments. One of those is this strikingly beautiful hand-woven tweed pocket shawl. Not only is this a beautifully hand-crafted garment but it is also wonderfully elegant on any lady. Despite it's simple appearance it is as flattering as the design is chic.

Handwoven in a gorgeous boucle tweed of pure new wool, the design is so skilfully shaped with a subtle collar that you would almost think that you were wearing a sort of sleeveless tweed jacket. Maybe the best feature is the cosy pockets on each side that keep your hands warm! Eddie Doherty Handwoven Tweed Throws

Eddie Doherty is a rarity. He is one of the few remaining traditional handweavers.

From Ardara in Donegal, North West Ireland, he produces these beautiful handwoven tweed throws. Woven from pure new wool, the colors are soft and natural, inspired by the fabulous Donegal landscape. This is great home furnishing! Wonderful accessories, cosy and warm, weighty too, perfect for laying over sofas and chairs or as bed covers. They are a good size also. Produced on an ancient loom, housed next door to his family pub, each measures four feet six inches(138cms) wide and six feet three inches(190cms) long and all the knots are hand tied. What a sensuous and seductive combination....50% merino wool, 30% linen and 20% silk. You can imagine the feel of this - light, airy and sheer..quite amazing and totally unique. Carefully, meticulously and very skilfully handwoven using 19th century looms, these very beautiful scarves are made by a husband and wife team in the west coast of Ireland, County Clare to be exact. McKernan Lollipop Scarves

These are really fun chunky scarves made from 100% Merino Wool in a soft loop yarn in exciting fresh colour combinations.

Handwoven by the McKernans from their own hand-dyed thick wool and finished with big hand tied knots.

They are so so soft and very comfortable and measure 21cm (8.25ins) by 180cm (71ins) and you have six colours to choose from.
